The primary target of TH-Z816 is the protein kinase BRD4 (Bromodomain-containing protein 4), which is involved in the regulation of gene expression and is known to be overexpressed in many types of cancer. By blocking the activity of BRD4, TH-Z816 is able to inhibit cancer cell growth and even induce cell death in some cases.
